Updates
Surveying is underway on several projects within the Road Bond Program. Surveying involves collecting important data to support the design of future road improvements.
Projects with ongoing survey work include:
Bridges & Low-Water Crossings
Design & Construction
As this work continues, residents may notice surveyors and other technical staff in project areas. In many cases, collecting the data needed to properly design roadway improvements requires work outside the existing right-of-way. When this occurs, the project team may need to request access to private property. This allows engineers to accurately assess drainage, environmental conditions, roadway limits, property boundaries, and the potential impacts of roadway improvements.
If access to private property is needed, the Caldwell County Road Bond team will contact the property owner directly, by mail, or in person, to request a signed Right of Entry agreement.
In February 2025, the County hired HNTB as its General Engineering Consultant to manage the bond program. Staff is now working with HNTB to procure engineering firms for project design.
Each project has unique needs, including design scope, right-of-way acquisition, utility relocation, coordination with other agencies (such as TxDOT and local cities), and nearby construction activity. The County is committed to moving these projects efficiently, and updates will be shared here as they become available.
