This project will design improvements to US 183 from Magnolia Avenue to the Plum Creek Bridge to enhance safety and mobility as Caldwell County continues to grow. US 183 currently includes two lanes in each direction.

IMPROVEMENTS

• Widening the roadway to include:

  • A continuous center turn lane

  • Shoulders on both sides

COST: $6.7M

PURPOSE

RIGHT OF WAY

This project is anticipated to require additional right of way to complete construction. Once design is underway, a better estimate of right-of-way needs will be determined. Funding for right-of-way acquisition and construction has not been identified.

SCHEDULE

DESIGN: 2025 — 2027

Current traffic, drainage, and environmental features will be evaluated, along with community input, to inform project design. Design is expected to be completed by early 2027. Timelines for right-of-way acquisition and construction have not been determined.
