N. Magnolia Ave. (US 183) Turn Lane Addition

Commissioner Horne, Precinct 2 | Engineer: Quiddity Engineering, Inc.

This project will design and construct improvements to North Magnolia Avenue (US 183) and reconstruct the Union Pacific Railroad crossing to improve traffic flow and safety in downtown Luling.


IMPROVEMENTS

  • Reconstructing and widening the roadway to include a continuous center turn lane

  • Replacing the existing open drainage with underground drainage

  • Replacing traffic signals at the intersections with SH 80 and E. Pierce Street

  • Improving the Union Pacific Railroad crossing


COST: $13.1M

RIGHT OF WAY

This project may require additional right of way to complete construction. Once design is underway, a better estimate of right-of-way needs will be determined.


SCHEDULE

DESIGN: 2025 — 2027

CONSTRUCTION: 2028 — 2029

Current traffic, drainage, and environmental features will be evaluated, along with community input, to inform project design. Design is expected to be completed by early 2027, with construction anticipated to begin in early 2028. All timelines are estimates and will be updated as the project progresses.
