North Hackberry Ave. (Alternate Truck Route)

This project will design and construct improvements to North Hackberry Avenue from SH 90 (Pierce Street) to SH 80 (San Marcos Highway) to create and enhance safety and improve mobility in downtown Luling.


IMPROVEMENTS

  • Repaving the roadway

  • Replacing the existing open drainage with underground drainage

  • Improving the Union Pacific Railroad crossing


COST: $4.8M

RIGHT OF WAY

This project may require additional right of way to complete construction. Once design is underway, a better estimate of right-of-way needs will be determined.


SCHEDULE

DESIGN: 2025 — 2026

CONSTRUCTION: 2027 — 2029

Current traffic, drainage, and environmental features will be evaluated, along with community input, to inform project design. Design is expected to be completed by late 2026, with construction anticipated to begin in mid-2027. All timelines are estimates and will be updated as the project progresses.
