In November 2024, Caldwell County voters approved a $150 million bond-funded investment in the safety and mobility of County roadways. The 32 projects will bring enhancements to transportation networks over the next five years. These projects include improvements to existing roadways, planning and construction of new roads, and enhancements to bridges and low-water crossings. The original bond included 22 projects. To provide greater clarity and detail moving forward, bridge replacements and low-water crossings have been divided into nine separate projects, and CR 179 has been split into two projects.
