This project will design and construct improvements to Borchert Loop from SH 142 to Black Ankle Road to enhance safety and improve mobility as this area of the County continues to grow. The existing roadway includes one lane in each direction with open drainage and no shoulders.

IMPROVEMENTS

• Widening and reconstructing the roadway to include:

• A continuous center turn lane

• Shoulders

• A sidewalk and shared-use path (SUP) for pedestrians and bicyclists

RIGHT OF WAY

This project may require additional right of way to complete construction. Once design is underway, a better estimate of right-of-way needs will be determined.

SCHEDULE

DESIGN: 2025 — 2027

CONSTRUCTION: 2028 — 2030

Current traffic, drainage, and environmental features will be evaluated, along with community input, to inform project design. Design is expected to be completed by late 2027, with construction anticipated to begin by mid-2028. All timelines are estimates and will be updated as the project progresses.
